Lucy Drama

Spencer and I had our first full day away from our little one last weekend when we went to the Colts game with my brother and sister-in-law Quentin and Elaine....we had a great time EXCEPT that we got a call in the morning from my mom (who was babysitting!) saying that our other little one (Lucydog) was throwing up and pooping blood. She was mostly sleeping and acting like she really felt horrible so after this continued through Sunday night, we took her to the vet Monday morning. Turns out she had hemorrhagic gastroenteritis....severe irritation of her stomach and intestines and severe dehydration which was probably caused by an allergy to a new food we had switched her to. She had to stay at the vet all day for IV fluids and antibiotic shots, but we took her home Monday night to finish recovering. She went through two IV's while at the vet (yes, she chewed through the tubing of the first one) so she still has two shaved spots on her front legs. Other than that, she's now back to her normal fiesty self and rather enjoying her "bland" chicken and rice diet! We are thankful that she's okay...she gave us quite a scare!!
